In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the chopped onion. Cook for 5-7 minutes, until the onion is soft and translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Sterilize your canning jars and lids, then ladle the hot sauce into the jars, leaving about 1/2 inch of headspace. Wipe the rims of the jars, place the lids on top, and screw on the bands. Process the jars in a boiling water bath for 35 minutes, then let them cool on the counter.

Once cooled, check that the jars are properly sealed, and store them in a cool, dark place for up to a year. When you’re ready to use the sauce, simply open a jar and spread it onto your homemade pizza dough, and enjoy the delicious flavor of your homemade canned pizza sauce.
